Venue:
The Manggha Museum
Description
The Manggha Museum in Kraków – a centre for traditional Japanese art – became the venue for a Neo-Tokyo-style event. We combined the spirit of Japanese culture with the cyberpunk aesthetic of computer games.
The museum’s two floors and the garden – we made the most of every square metre to create an immersive experience. We created unique design elements (in-house production) that served as photo opportunities: a throne made of keyboards, a wall of processors, and a buffet featuring an installation of retro telescopic televisions.
The event provided an opportunity to unveil a spectacular light chandelier. It is a gigantic curtain capable of displaying 3D visuals. It became the focal point of the space.
We have shown respect for the venue by enriching the futuristic set design with traditional elements: authentic samurai armour, Japanese lanterns in the garden, a huge statue of Buddha, and neon signs with Japanese characters.
In the entertainment area, we have recreated the atmosphere of Japanese amusement arcades: StepMania machines, classic arcade games and interactive gaming zones.
